f806a25c9e add support for delaying pio writes until the cache access occurs
dev/ns_gige.cc:
    add support for delaying pio writes until the cache access occurs
    the only write we delay are for CR_TXE and CR_RXE

    the txPioRequest and rxPioRequest things were more or less bogus
    add support for delaying pio writes until the cache access occurs
dev/sinicreg.hh:
    Add delay_read and delay_write to the register information struct
    for now, we won't delay any reads, and we'll delay the writes that
    initiate DMAs
python/m5/objects/Ethernet.py:
    add a parameter to delay pio writes until the timing access
    actually occurs.

12d903a650 io_bus is split out into pio_bus and dma_bus so that any device
can specify either independently.

python/m5/objects/Device.py:
    io_bus is split out into pio_bus and dma_bus so that any device
    can specify either independently.
    dma_bus defaults to point to whatever pio_bus uses.

a51565f6ae It's not necessary for a device to call recvDone, that
automatically happens in the interface after the packet
is delivered to the device.

2badc0113c Shuffle around device names to make things easier to read.
Create EtherDevBase which both Sinic and NSGigE derive from
bump fifos
drop rx max copy size to 1514 bytes to be friendlier with linux
default interrupt delay is 10us

4f43bc65ea use the dedicated flag, no more exposing the m5reg directly

    stop exposing the m5reg to the configuration stuff and build it
    based on exposed flags.  Expose dedicated now.

objects.  The improper serialization of arrays was particularly
bad.

    Don't add serialization functions to events, it's generally not

4f53a4705e Fix a couple of turbolaser problems that were introduced by the
new freebsd code.

    g++ doesn't like it when you declare a variable inside a case
    label.  Pull the declaration outside.

c4029ecb30 Implement a state machine clock that acutally limits how fast
the nsgige state machine can run. The frequency is of the actual
state transitions, and not the rate of what underlying
instructions might run at.

    Implement a state machine clock that acutally limits how fast
    the state machine can run.  After each state transition, a
    variable is kept to hold the next state transition until the
    next clock.  The frequency is of the actual state transitions,
    and not the rate of what underlying instructions might run at.

    Add back the rxKickEvent and txKickEvent events.
python/m5/objects/Ethernet.py:
    Default the state machine clock to '0ns' so the default
    behaviour doesn't change when we actually implement the
    state machine clock.

5eab6c4b41 Make the notion of a global event tick independent of the actual
CPU cycle ticks.  This allows the user to have CPUs of different
frequencies, and also allows frequencies and latencies that are
not evenly divisible by the CPU frequency.  For now, the CPU
frequency is still set to the global frequency, but soon, we'll
hopefully make the global frequency fixed at something like 1THz
and set all other frequencies independently.

    The cycles counter is based on the current cpu cycle.

but a sophisticated python library exists to help build them more

a109296bde Fix a bug where we would improperly calculate if the FIFO was
full by adding a reserve feature to the packet fifo which allows
us to reserve space in the fifo if only part of a packet was
copied into the fifo.

dev/ns_gige.cc:
    use the new reserve feature in the fifo to properly determine
    when we're full.  assert that adding a packet to the fifo suceeds.
dev/pktfifo.hh:
    add the ability to reserve space in the fifo.  This is useful for
    partial writing of packets into the fifo.

b881408ed7 Clean up the Range class and associated usages. The code was
never clear about whether the end of the range was inclusive
or exclusive.  Make it inclusive, but also provide a RangeSize()
function that will generate a Range based on a start and a size.
This, in combination with using the comparison operators, makes
almost all usages of the range not care how it is stored.

base/range.cc:
    Make the end of the range inclusive.

    start/end -> first/last
    (end seems too much like end() in stl)
base/range.hh:
    Make the end of the range inclusive.

    Fix all comparison operators so that they work correctly with
    an inclusive range.  Also, when comparing one range to another
    with <, <=, >, >=, we only look at the beginning of the range
    beacuse x <= y should be the same as x < y || x == y.  (This wasn't
    the case before.)

    Add a few functions for making a range:
    RangeSize is start and size
    RangeEx is start and end where end is exclusive
    RangeIn is start and end where end is inclusive
